Ho Wan - Hahaha!! BUY! BUY! BUY!
I love National Day. In celebration of Singapore¡¯s birthday, a lot of retail shops are giving discounts to seduce vulnerable consumers like me. There are a few DVD drama serial sets that I have always wanted to get and they are going at about 60% of their original price! It¡¯s just too good to be true! BUY! BUY! And there¡¯s also a 20% storewide discount at Kinokuniya bookstore. The Ultimates, Ultimate X-Men, The Authority, Robot artbook and business books that I have been eyeing for a long time and they are at 20% off! BUY! BUY! BUY! BUY! Haha, in the end, I think I spend a few hundred dollars just on these stuffs¡ I wondered when I¡¯m going to finish these comics, books and DVDs. And the tons of anime and manga that I bought at a sale about 4 to 6 months ago are already gathering cobwebs¡

Ho Wan - Chapter 1 Evaluation
We are finally at chapter 2! Looking back at chapter 1, I’m not quite satisfied with how the story turns out. I think I have sort of neglected the fact that manga should be visual orientated. I have been reading a lot of Marvel comics while I was writing chapter 1 and I guess that influenced how I wrote the story at that time. Generally speaking, American comics are story orientated while Japanese manga are visual orientated (thanks to Jessica for reminding me that). Given the same story, if an American comic takes 24 pages to tell the story, a Japanese manga would probably take twice or even more than that. I think there’s no good or bad, just a matter of preference. For example, I enjoy reading The Ultimates. Comparatively to a manga, the story and plot reveals itself quickly. A story arc is completed within 13 chapters (a lot of things happen within 13 chapters, you have Captain America’s background, introduction of all the characters in The Ultimates, The Hulk vs The Ultimates, The Ulimates fighting against alien invaders and blah blah). On the other hand, in One Piece, just the fight alone between Mr. 0 and Luffy, there’s about 8 to 10 chapters (I’m a One Piece fan…)! … ok… I think I got too carried away… anyway, after much evaluation and reflection, Jessica and I agreed that Hunt! should be more visual orientated (just like a Japanese manga). These changes are not that apparent in chapter 2 (for production of the comic, we are 3 chapters ahead)… probably they would be when we reach chapter 3. By the way, no worries, we will not take 8 to 10 chapters to complete a fight in Hunt! (fight scenes in One Piece is a bit of a drag...).

Ho Wan - My new baby!
Another update from Mcdonalds. Three cheers to free internet access!
I just got this new baby a month ago. Her name’s Acerine (it’s an Acer computer!) ~ and she’s being sticking to me like superglue ever since.

All my work stuff is is in a mess before Acerine came into my life, I’m a workaholic sicko and I absolutely love bringing my work back home. So in the end, all my work files are scattered in my office computer, home computer and my girlfriend’s computer… very complicated and Acerine’s the solution :)
Meanwhile, in web scoop, we have the Zuiikin Girls. All thanks to our inking artist, Aki, for providing this lead. If you have not heard of them before, check them out or you are gonna regret! :p

We got into the news!
yayS! we got into lianhe zaobao! hahaha! ^^ which is sort of cool. AnywayZ, i do think theres some points there that i think ought to be straightened ou!
Well, i AM a fan of Clamp's older works and tho i don't want to be compared with them, the reason is definitely NOT because i am afraid of standard comparison or flaming hahah... i did not say this during the interview cause sadly i couldn't think of what to say! But it was the impromptu reply of one of the team members la XDD...i figure we were all too brainless at the moment ya! It never occured to me that we're like Clamp in the first place- from the way of working right down to style and story, i sort of felt we are completely different. Besides, their style is not something we're working towards and i do hope readers dont confuse our art direction with Clamp's!
But i am confident about our standard of art and yes, for a start, we're still trying to get plenty of things straight. When many people come together, we work faster, but there's the style consistancy and stuff to worry about... Even on my part, i had some trouble deciding on what style i wanted to use! Gomen ne... and yes... i am aware of odd errors now and then.... ufufufu...
haha also, during the interview i did say that i am aware that lots of guys to manga lah! So haha yes, i don't think national service is any reason for a guy not to be able to draw manga >). Too bad it wasnt printed out haha!
On the whole, i am still happy with the article! XD Wished the picture of us kicking ho wan was published tho! And yes, all constructive comments are welcome and appreciated ^^ > u< i am going to laminate it for a souveneir! (oh how old fashioned XD)
